You know our Executive Team, but do you know who’s behind the phone or email when you contact our support team? For each of our newsletters we’re going to introduce a different member of the team. This month it’s Janelle’s turn…
Hi, I’m Janelle and I started with STONZ in February 2020. Prior to starting with STONZ, I was the RMO Unit Team Leader at Christchurch Hospital. Commencing my new job with STONZ at the beginning of 2020 was certainly an interesting time to start but gave me an opportunity to quickly develop a lot of connections around the country as the DHBs and unions worked together during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the past 2 years I’ve been able to be part of STONZ as its grown from 1200 to 2000 members. It’s been a big change from working at the DHB, and I’ve really enjoyed the opportunity to be part of the team.
I’m based in Christchurch, where I was born and raised, living with my fiancée, two cats and a dog.
When I’m not working or entertaining my dog, I also volunteer as a Scout Leader. I really enjoy the opportunity to give back to the community and help rangatahi to have opportunities they might normally not get. Helping at Scouts sees my weekend filled with everything from sailing and rowing, tramping and camping through to even getting a chance to fly a plane and be involved in international scouting events.
What gets me out of bed each day? Sometimes its the cats jumping on me demanding their breakfast but mostly it’s helping people, whether through my work with STONZ, Scouts or friends and whanau.
Members – do you have a story you’d like to share? Or you think would inspire other RMOs? If so, email support@stonz.co.nz We’d love to hear from you.
