Have you ever considered what it might be like working for a union? Well now is your chance!
I can say all the usual things that are often listed in recruitment ads like, work for a great team, flexible working hours, competitive pay, have your birthday off etc, but that should all be a given (and we are a great team by the way), so what makes us different?
One, we’re a non-for-profit with the aim to protect and improve the training our junior doctor workforce in Aotearoa. Two, you’d be making a difference everyday…I’m not going to lie, working in the healthcare system right now has its moments; we are currently facing some of the most difficult times any of us have ever experienced before, but there is hope in the amazing people we help and support every day (our members), and the exciting opportunity of a new healthcare system which we are already seeing starting to break down barriers, bureaucracy and create opportunity to have conversations about how to move forward which we have not had before. And third, our union is run by Junior doctors, so we’re working alongside the workforce, and they are central to how the union is run, how we operate and what we do.
Back to the team, we have a small but really great team, with a support team office based in Christchurch who do incredible mahi to ensure our members, and our junior doctor workforce are supported as best they can to become future specialists, and most importantly look after patients and our communities as best they can. We also have all the benefits noted above plus some!
We currently have two opportunities to join the team, one starting ASAP (preferably based in Christchurch), for a competent, organised, and detailed Administrator to support with operational administration support and customer service. We are looking for admin support for our team over the busy holiday period. This is a part-time temporary role from now until February 2023.
The second opportunity will be to fill the very large shoes that are going to be left by Becky from our support team when she heads off overseas in 2023 to explore the world. We’re looking for someone who knows what a ‘RMO’ is and has had experience working within the Health System. The role and location are flexible, for us, it is totally about finding the right person.
Applications will be reviewed as they are received so don’t delay – if you are interested, get in touch today! Please email support@stonz.co.nz with your CV and Cover Letter or call us for a chat if you want to know more, 03 745 9258.
Ngā mihi,
Kate Clapperton-Rees
